Reading & Writing

I haven't really updated in a while. Life and writing took few turns. I'm more focused now and have completed the first Novel in my Lupae series and am in editing/rewrites on the second.

A fantasy story and possible series has been nibbling at the writing muse and a short story was born. I very much love exploring Persephone and Hades with a few modern twists and different interpretation than some of the classical takes on this myth. Less assault and kidnapping and more agency for Persephone aka Kore who was quite a powerful goddess in her own right. Like all my writing, this has a New Adult vibe to it.

Onto reading! I just finished R.L. Naquin's To Catch a Stolen Soul (Urban Fiction) which is part of the a series. I really love the main character who is a Djinn. It's a fun and quick read with a very cool world build and characters. It's also got a great friendship/mentorship relationship. I'll be reading more in this series. Alas, like many series, I tend to hop around and then get back to it. Sometimes I read series out of order like Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark Series. I am obsessed with the Valkyries.

Current read also has a great world build. A good world build and strong start is what draws me in. Murdering Eve by Kelly L. Lee is a fun fantasy/mythology genre. Nothing intrigues me more than murdering the MC and sending her to Olympus where she wakes up confused and hurled into adventure and on a mission for the War God, Ares. This feels like a quick read and I'm looking forward to another night of following Eve on her adventures.
